Dr. Maria Montessori
Precious Educational Heritage
Dr. Maria Montessori, 1870-1952, Italian physician and educator. The founder of the Montessori education method.
Montessori is a doctor of medicine and a doctor of philosophy. She proposed the theory of "absorptive mind" and "sensitive period" on human development and characteristics. She believed that babies and young children are like sponges and cameras, with amazing learning abilities. She explores children by following their natural instincts, and also emphasizes freedom, allowing children to explore freely and respecting every choice they make.
Montessori studied child development with a medical professional background and believed that birth to 6 years old is an important stage in life. She proposed that the infancy is the most important golden period of education in life. Development at this stage has a direct impact on the subsequent development of a person's life.
The Important Spirit of Dr. Montessori
Dr. Montessori proposed that for young children, education should take love as the starting point. As an adult role as a guide is to take love as the starting point, connect the environment and teaching aids, and encourage children to grow and thrive in an environment of love. She attaches great importance to the spiritual education of children. When children grow up in a loving environment, not only will their physical and psychological development be healthy, but their hearts will also be happy and their emotions will be stable. Spiritual education or the development of a sound mind does not begin with adulthood, but is acquired in a natural way from early childhood.
In the process of observing the development of young children, Dr. Montessori discovered that with the help of some teaching aids, not only can children's self-care abilities be strengthened, but also children can learn on their own from the teaching aids. Therefore, she began to develop some teaching aids suitable for children's daily life care, sensory, science, language, mathematics and other topics to help promote the development of children's hands and intelligence. Children work through teaching aids designed by Montessori. She guides children to understand language, numbers, shapes, colors, sizes, the universe, etc. and teaches them how to take care of the environment, how to take care of themselves, how to eat, how to put on and take off clothes, Language exercises include listening, speaking, reading and writing, so it has gradually been respected by many people. All the successful deeds in St. Lorenz have made Maria Montessori famous all over the world. On January 6, 1907, she established the first Montessori school in San Lorenzo, a poor area on the outskirts of Rome, Italy. At that time, Dr. Montessori helped many homeless and special children learn. The teaching methods developed by Dr. Montessori are applicable to normal children. At the invitation of local residents, Dr. Montessori established the first Montessori school and was appointed as the school's first principal.
Dr. Montessori dedicated her life to children. She studied and applied the theories of medicine, philosophy, science, education, psychology, and anthropology to create the Montessori education method. She used teaching aids and theories to have a great impact on the development of children around the world. Influence is a brand new teaching method. In addition to caring about early childhood education, Dr. Montessori spared no effort in caring for disadvantaged groups. She has published "Montessori Teaching Method", "Children in the Family", "Children in the Church", "Secrets of Childhood", "Children of the Earth", "Reform of Education in Adolescence and Beyond", "University "Function of", "The First Three Years of Life", "Education in the New World", "Absorptive Mind", "Knowing Your Child", "Discovering Children" and other works. After a hundred years, facts have proven that she is an innovator and pioneer who has made incomparable contributions to early childhood education.

Combination of Family Education and Montessori Education
The family is not only an extension of the school. The relationship of mutual trust and love between the child and the parent is the most important foundation for the child’s future growth. Parents can give the child the opportunity to participate in housework activities, let the child participate in daily self-care ability exercises, and the parents slow down Cater to the pace of life of the child, tolerate the mistakes that children may make in the learning process, and the parental discipline to maintain consistency. The purpose of Montessori education is to help children develop all aspects of their potential, basic common sense, ways of thinking, personality education, and cultivate children's natural learning instincts.
